In Acts 14 Paul and others are going around preaching the gospel. What caught my eye this morning was verse 9; 'This man heard Paul speaking, Paul observing him intently and seeing that he had faith to be healed.' I forgot to tell you that there was a crippled man listening to Paul teach. But Paul, while he was teaching, saw that the man had faith to be healed.
I teach just about every Sunday. When I teach, I just teach. I wonder if I miss seeing those that 'have faith to be healed.' Or maybe I don't. While I am teaching, there are some people that are engaged and I can tell that they are receiving revelation from the Holy Spirit at that very moment. They are receiving a rhema word. A word for where they are at, right there, right now.
Could it be that as we read the Word, listen to the Word, and add to it faith believing that is when we receive our miracle? It may not be a miracle to physically walk again. But it may be a miracle to walk in our place of work, school or residence with the attitude and righteousness that God wants us to have. And this is no less of a miracle then the cripple man walking.
We are in the Podigal God book campaign right now at WVFC. We are learning that both the younger son and the older son break community with their father because they are more interested in the father's things then the father. The answer to your life's problems is not more money, sex, another spouse, ease & comfort, entertainment, etc. The answer is loving the Father because He first loved us and trusting in Him and not our own understanding. When we have that kind of trust, we bring healing faith to the reading and hearing of the Word. Then the miracles happen.
Expect miracles tomorrow at church,
Pastor Tom
