Good Morning Sweetheart!
When I read Mark 8:15, Jesus saying, "Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod," I thought of the Prodigal God series we are currently going learning from. The older brother is the leaven of the Pharisees. Trying to be good enough, keeping all the rules but no love. The younger brother is the leaven of Herod. Herod was the gentile king at the time that was interested in John the Baptist and Jesus but chose lust instead.
Jesus instructs us to neither go the way of self righteousness or fulfill the lusts of our flesh. The right way is to go to Jesus as the Bread of life. Receive His love. Receive His forgiveness. Receive His peace. There is a place to walk with Jesus that will calm the anxiousness, uneasiness, discontentment, dissolutions that are caused by not being home.
We are created to be in a perfect environment; Garden of Eden. Living daily in communion with our Creator; Yeshua. A place without injustice, fear, shame or guilt. No wonder we don't feel right living here. We have a deep root sense of home sickness at our core. We don't have to live with it. Each day we can connect with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and walk with Him through out the day. He is the Bread of Life. He will sustain us until that day of completion.
You have ears to hear, and eyes to see,
Pastor Tom
